Eugene Mirman, Voice of Gene on Bob’s Burgers, Seriously Injured in Fiery NH Car Crash
Eugene (Yevgeny) Mirman, the comedian and voice actor best known for his role as Gene Belcher on the animated series Bob’s Burgers, was seriously injured in a fiery single‑vehicle crash in New Hampshire, state police said.
The crash occurred Tuesday just before noon when Mirman’s electric vehicle struck a concrete structure at the Bedford Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike, according to a statement from New Hampshire State Police. The vehicle caught fire after the impact, trapping the driver inside.
State police said a veteran trooper assigned to Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s security detail came upon the crash and, with assistance from bystanders, pulled Mirman from the burning vehicle through a window. Ayotte and others at the scene helped provide aid until emergency crews arrived.
The 51-year-old was transported to a hospital with serious but non‑life‑threatening injuries, police said. No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
