Man who killed girlfriend in front of their children sentenced to 64 years to life in prison

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (TCN) — A man who was recently convicted of killing his girlfriend in front of their two young children has been sentenced to 64 years to life in prison.
KRON reports Romier Taguiam Narag, 30, was found guilty in February of first-degree murder in the death 27-year-old Frances Lucero. The couple had argued in the driveway of their home on March 6, 2023. Narag then shot Lucero several times in front of their 3-year-old and 4-year-old as she tried to run away. In court, Narag said that “she pushed my buttons and it just happened.”
The children reportedly were unsure whether they were seeing blood or ketchup, according to KRON.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that after victim impacts statements were read at the sentencing, Narag asked the court for forgiveness, said he hated himself, and took full responsibility for his actions.
