Seahawks Nearing Decision to Replace Klint Kubiak: Report
The Seattle Seahawks are getting ready to name their next offensive coordinator after the departure of Klint Kubiak to the Las Vegas Raiders.
As one of the hottest names in the coaching cycle, Kubiak was always likely to garner interest and interviews for head coach roles, meaning the Seahawks were likely ready.
Indeed, he was the top candidate for the Raiders, who were looking for an offensive mind to get the most out of a promising core.
Kubiak did not announce his departure until after the Super Bowl win over the Patriots, but he likely told the organization as soon as he knew, giving them ample time to prepare mentally amid preparations for the title game.

According to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune, in the aftermath of the Super Bowl, Seattle is closing in on their choice for offensive coordinator, though he did not specify which candidate was in a strong position to get the nod.
“I’m told Seahawks and coach Mike Macdonald are closing in on hiring from within the team’s current coaching staff to be Seattle’s new offensive coordinator to replace Klint Kubiak,” Bell wrote on X.
“Kubiak is now, as of today, the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.”
Under McDonald, Seattle has consistently fielded a good defense by optimizing its players, but the offensive coordinator hire will be key to the team’s success.
Who can the Seattle Seahawks hire?
The Seahawks are essentially forced to hire from within rather than interview external candidates, one downside of being a Super Bowl team. However, there is a standout candidate to replace Kubiak in-house: quarterback coach Andrew Janocko.
The unit will keep most of its players, including quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The offensive line should be solid, along with an elite defense, which will increase the offense’s margin of error.
Seattle should be fine as long as a competent mind takes over the offense and does a good job. For the time being, however, they get to bask in the glory of their most recent accomplishment and worry about next season in a few weeks.
