Firefighters battling brush fire in Burb

Firefighters were battling wildfires Saturday in Burbank and Santa Clarita.
Walnut fire
The Walnut fire was burning near DeBell Golf Club and Wildwood Canyon Park. Areas immediately around the blaze have been evacuated.
“DeBell Restaurant and Golf Course and Stough Canyon Nature Center. Hiking trails closed until further notice. The Starlight Bowl concert scheduled for August 8 has been canceled,” the city of Burbank said in a statement.
The fire has burned about 20 acres.
Tasha fire
A second fire was burning near Santa Clarita.
The Tasha fire was burning near the Newhall Pass near Sierra Highway.
“Firefighters are working in steep, rugged terrain with limited access, making suppression efforts more challenging. Crews remain engaged with both ground and air resources to slow the fire’s spread and protect nearby communities,” CalFire said.
Evacuations were issued in the Calgrove and Wildwood areas. Evacuation warnings were issued for other parts of the pass.
Here’s details about evacuations.
